Roadway lighting serves as an important safety feature for busy streets and highways where visibility is essential. Lighting can greatly enhance driver and pedestrian safety. Municipalities and DOTs are switching the roadway luminaires from HPS to LED for its cost-saving energy efficiency, product longevity, reduced maintenance, and minimal light pollution.
Longevity is a primary economic factor. The longer lifespan of LEDs also means less need for maintenance vehicles on the road. Having consistent true color rendition is another significant benefit of LEDs. In addition to these benefits, a central wireless lighting control and monitoring system offers various lighting control options and automates lighting performance monitoring.
